You can protect your computer from some unwanted things or uses through the BIO password. You can set total two types of password in BIOS. One type of password is that your computer will ask you for that password when you will start your computer. If you fail to give the correct password, then you can not enter into the computer. The second type of password is that you can easily enter into the computer without any password, but when you will try to enter into the BIOS of that computer then you will have to press the correct password.

Sometimes, it can be happened that you have forget your own BIOS password and you can not log into the computer. Again you have purchased computer from another person and when you want to enter into the BIOS settings of that computer then you see that there is a password. In the case of such problems, you will need to reset the BIOS password. In this post, I will say you total three processes to solve this problem.

  1. You can solve this problem with unplug the battery from your computer. If you see the motherboard, then you will get a battery attached with it. These types of batteries are used in the wrist watch. Carefully unplug the battery from the motherboard. Remember that your computer must have to be off that time. After 10 to 15 minutes, plug the battery into the motherboard again and start your computer. Your password should be removed already. But in some motherboards, capacitors are used to keep the power as backup. So for those types of motherboards, you will have to keep the battery in unplugged situation for about 1 day (24 hours). Then password will be removed. In some motherboards, batteries are kept shouldered. So if you have no previous experience to do this task, then bring an experienced person to perform this task. Again, there are some modern motherboards, specially, laptop motherboards, where you can not do this unplugging the battery. In those cases, you will have to follow the steps given below.
  2. You can do this task also using the DIP switch or jumper. In some motherboards, there are systems to reset the password through the DIP switch of jumper. You will get the settings besides DIP switch or jumper. If the settings is not given there, then read the manual of the motherboard or know about that through the website of the motherboard manufacturer companies.
  3. You can also try through the secret passwords. Many BIOS manufacturers give some secret passwords into their BIOS. Using these passwords, you can overlook the current password. In the following, I am trying to give you some of these passwords.

For Award BIOS:
BIOSTAR, KDD, ALLy, aLLy, CONCAT, ALFAROME, ZAAADA, CONDO, LKWPETER, Lkwpeter, Condo, PINT, 01322222, djonet, 589721, HLT, J262, J256, j332, j322, 589589, AWARD SW, AWKWARD, TTPTHA, SYXZ, syxz, ZJAAADC etc.

For AMI BIOS:
AMI, PASSWORD, BIOS, AMI?SW, AMI_SW, LKWPETER, HEWITT RAND, CONDO etc.

For Phoenix BIOS:
Phoenix, CMOS, BIOS, PHOENIX etc.

In the case of most Toshiba Laptop and in some desktop computers, you can bypass the BIOS password through pressing the left shift of the keyboard during the boot of the computer.

Overview
You can clear the password required to change settings in the BIOS of your Dell computer. You may want to do this if you or someone else set a password for the computer and it has been forgotten or lost. BIOS stands for Basic Input/Output System, and is a program loaded when a computer is turned on to tell it what to do. When it is password protected, you cannot change the BIOS settings without the password. Dell’s Vostro line includes desktops and laptops, but the steps are similiar for both.

Step 1
Shut down your computer. Disconnect the power cable from the back of the computer.

Step 2
Remove the battery if you are using a laptop. Otherwise, go to the next step.

Step 3
Go to the Dell Manuals website (see Resources). Enter your product model. Click “View” to the right of “Service Manual” to view information for working on your exact computer model.
o
Step 4
Click “System Board” to see a diagram of the motherboard. This will help in locating the motherboard battery. Other disassembly information may be available, but this varies based on which computer model you have.

Step 5
Open the computer case and locate the round silver battery on the motherboard. This is the battery that allows the computer to store BIOS information even when the main battery or power cord is unplugged.

Step 6
Remove the motherboard battery. Press the power button on the computer for at least 10 seconds to clear any remaining charge.

Step 7
Replace the motherboard battery. Reconnect the laptop battery, if applicable, and power cable. Press the power button on the computer.

Step 8
Press the key indicated on screen to attempt to enter BIOS again. If there is still a password, go to the next step.

Step 9
Replace any case covers you removed earlier to access the motherboard battery. Call Dell Home and Home Office Hardware Technical Support at 1-877-293-1197 and request the BIOS reset key for your computer model.

Is your computer accessed by everyone and you want to stop it? Well, you don’t need to keep it under lock and key to stop it being accessed. Instead, set a BIOS password.

The Basic Input Output System, popularly known as (BIOS), offers two different types of security passwords known as “supervisor” and “user” passwords. To secure your computer you can set either password. In this article we will let you know how to set the BIOS password. It is always recommended to reset the password at times for better safety.

  • Step 1 : Close all the open applications and restart your computer.
  • Step 2 : While the operating system boots up tap F2 or Del key to enter setup. However, it may require tapping any other key based on the model of the computer. Refer to your computer manual on this.
  • Step 3 : In the Basic Input Output System menu access the heading labeled “Security.” You need to do this by pressing the right arrow key of the keyboard.
  • Step 4 : To get to the “Supervisor Password” option scroll down through the “Security” options tapping the down arrow key and hit “Enter” once you get the option.
  • Step 5 : Enter password in the text box that appears on the screen. The password could be anything of your choice. Hit “Enter” to confirm password.
  • Step 6 : Now you need to access the “Exit” option at the far right side of the BIOS menu.
  • Step 7 : Keep pressing the down arrow key until you reach the “Exit Saving Changes” option.
  • Step 8 : Press “Enter” to open a new menu and press “Enter” again confirm the new settings and restart your computer.

By following aforementioned steps you can easily set a BIOS password.

This Toshiba bios password removal process is meant for use on Toshiba laptops that you own or have had permission from the rightful owner to remove the password. If any of these processes are done incorrectly it may result in complete system failure or permanent system damage (you’ve been warned!).

Some Toshiba bios passwords can be reset using the Key Disk.exe utility, to do this you need a 1.44Mb floppy disk. Format the disk using Windows and then with a hex editor, change the first five bytes of the second sector to 4B 45 59 00 00.

Then put the floppy into your machine and boot it up, you’ll be asked for a password, just press Enter. Then when you’re asked to set the password, type Y then Enter, this will get you into the bios configuration where you can then type in a new password.

Aside from the KeyDisk, you can build a parallel Loopback plug, this is a simple device that plugs into the parallel port of the machine and removes the password when you boot it up.

To make it you will need a 25 pin DB25 plug, take the plug apart and join these pins using some old cable;
Pins: 1-5-10, 2-11, 3-17, 4-12, 6-16, 7-13, 8-14, 9-15, and 18-25

Clear Toshiba Bios Password

Plug it into your parallel port and boot up your machine, the password should be removed as soon as it boots.

Note: This will work on majority of older Toshiba’s (1995 – 2002) and obviously only ones that have a parallel port.

Lots of people forgot their PC Bios/cmos password, so I will tell you 3 best methods to find lost bios password.

1. The best and easiest method: Cloce OS and shut down the electricity power of computer. Open your computer box, take out the cmos battery from the mainboard. Then the bios password will be reset to blank.

mainboard-battery
2. Follow some hard tutorials, it is difficult to do. It is better that you are a expert. For example this tutorial: Bypass BIOS Password or Crack CMOS Password?  http://passwordreset.org/bios/bypass-bios-password-or-crack-cmos-password.html
3. Use the bios password recovery tool http://www.biospasswordrecovery.com, but that is not free!

So I would suggest you the 1st method. Hope it helps.
